What is suported employment?

Supported Employment (SE) enables people who have not been successfully employed to work and contribute to society. SE focuses on a person's abilities and provides the support the individual needs to be successful on a long-term basis. PHP is committed to Supported Employment and the impact it has on improving the quality of life of anyone associated with SE programs.

In order to improve services and make the available to an increasing number of people who want or need a job support, PHP provides technical assistance and education to people involved with SE and encourages service delivery based sound values and ethics.

To accomplish these goals, PHP was formed to provide a strong partnership with others who share this dedication to SE.

Admission criteria

The services provided encompass a wide variety of therapeutic settings and intervention modalities:

Case management services coordination provide goal oriented and individualized support focusing on improved self sufficiency for the clients through assessment, planning, linkages, advocacy, coordination, and monitoring activities. Successful service coordination results in community opportunities and increased independence for the client.

  • Pre-screened participants – To provide qualified and reliable employees. Dependable employees – our clients take pride in a job well done, no matter how small or menial task. The consumers are ready for individual placement in the community environment.
  • Built in Vocational Trainers – Each individual you hire through our program is assigned a job coach at no cost to you. The job coach is a qualified, trained professional who works one-on-one with the employee until such time as the employee is able to work on their own. The coach assigned to your employee will gradually reduce the amount of coaching required and this can remain in place for the duration of employment.
  • Troubleshooting – Should you experience any difficulties with your employee or wish to expand their capabilities, the job coach will provide whatever additional training is required. All training will be at no cost to you and will be to your complete satisfaction.
  • Funding & Tax credits – There are various reimbursements and/or tax credit programs available to employers who hire through our program, these programs vary according to your type of business and we will be happy to discuss the details with you.
  • Contribution to Our Community – By hiring the individual from our program, you are directly reducing the tax burden of our community by reducing the need of Government Assistance.
